CIT has developed a number of learning objects which have been uploaded to the NDLR repository. These objects have been used in CIT both as part of online courses and face-to-face learning materials and staff have been polled with regard to the development of further related resources. CIT continues to create resources for the training of trainers, including tutorials on the use of new media and social networking tools to enhance and compliment work in the academic environment. Examples include productivity applications such as note-taking tools, organisational tools, email lists/ campaigns; survey software, wikis, poll software, social networking sites, etc.; basic multimedia on the web such as screen capture, podcasting, basic editing. It is hoped that these short tutorials will help academic staff in integrating technology in their teaching and encourage the use of modern teaching methods which will also benefit students. The resources are created in CIT by the DEIS Department. Current resources being created for the 2010 LIPs projects include video tutorials to teach core skills in the Tourism, Hospitality and Culinary sector; interactive Maths resources for reinforcement; and demonstrations on the use of Web 2.0 tools in Education.
