Podcast : Gordon Wells – Scottish Island Voices

In the latest of our podcast series Gordon Wells talks about the Scottish Island Voices project. This project was undertaken by Sabhal Mór Ostaig (SMO), which is Scotland’s Gaeilic College, and Cothrom Training Ltd. In partnership they worked on developing language teaching materials and the project ran as part of the larger Leonardo project called POOLS (Producing Open Online Learning Systems), which had 9 partners around Europe.

The Scottish Island Voices was awarded a 2007 European Award for Languages, and was a bilingual project and aimed to encourage the use of new technology in learning and teaching.

Gordon talks about the project, his role in the project, and the benefits to those involved in the project and he encourages anyone interested in following a similar model to develop such materials to make contact with him.

Gordon’s details can be found on the members page of the POOLS website, or by clicking here. More information on the Scottish Island Voices project can be viewed here.
