Information for LInCS Leaders and NDLR Institutional Coordinators
Aim, Scope & Format
The main aim of this event is to celebrate local champions and showcase the wide array of learning resources (LRs) and associated T & L activities that have been generated across all subject disciplines in the Irish HE sector. This will be a national forum event for staff of Irish HE Institutions to come together, get an overview of the type and range of digital learning resources available through the NDLR community and repository and an opportunity to meet their colleagues at the showcase exhibition to see what other people are doing.
To assist the NDLR Fest visitor on the day, the exhibition area will display poster boards of the resources based on the following 5 subject areas;
- Arts Humanities and Social Sciences
- Education
- Health Sciences
- Science and Engineering
- Business and Law
- Inter-Disciplinary Subjects
The categorisation of resources will make it easier for the NDLR Fest visitor to find resources that would be of interest and relevance to them. Each partner Institute will also display posters of local resources developed within their Institute, showing all the activity that has taken place in 2010. In addition to the NDLR Fest, the same posters could be reused for events such as Edtech 2011 and local or national teaching and learning days.
To ensure the success of this event we need each LInCS project leader and each Institutional Co-ordinators to assist us with the following:
- Insitutional Co-ordinators: Referring to section 2 of the annual report, please ensure that all resources developed by or in collaboration with your Institution and listed in the report has been uploaded to the NDLR
- Insitutional Co-ordinators and LInCS Project Leaders: If possible, record a 3 minute video of an NDLR supported resource, either a screencast of the resource or a video interview with the developer (a sample video will be made available in the near future)
- Insitutional Co-ordinators: The NDLR Core Team will populate posters for local projects on your behalf based on the material that your provided in the 2010 annual report. (i) We will collate the text of the LIPs descriptions into this template and send it to you for confirmation and sign off (ii) We will then paste this text, URLs for the resource and a screengrab or image into the poster (iii) we send it back to you for final review (iv) We print A4 colour versions of these posters for showcasing on the day and you can use the original posters for your local institutional and other events.
